ERuDeF, the Environment and Rural Development Foundation, is an established and award-winning Cameroonian non-profit conservation organization, founded in 1999. With over two decades of dedicated activity in Cameroon, ERuDeF has made substantial contributions to the restoration of the nation's fragile ecosystems and the promotion of sustainable environmental stewardship. The organization's comprehensive approach targets several critical areas essential for long-term ecological health and community resilience.
These efforts include robust forest regeneration initiatives, achieved through the establishment of strategic plantations and the implementation of agroforestry systems that benefit both the environment and local populations. Furthermore, ERuDeF is actively engaged in vital biodiversity conservation by protecting crucial wildlife habitats and supporting the effective management of protected areas. By integrating these practices, ERuDeF works to secure Cameroon's natural heritage while fostering a culture of sustainable management among rural communities.

Conservation
In 2014, after organizational restructuring, the Department of Forest Resources Management and Conservation was created to pilot the upgrading and management of these conservation blocks. There were further restructuring at the level of the Department of Forest Resource Management and Conservation which led to the creation of the Department of Conservation in March 2016.
The Department of Conservation consist of three programs namely, Biodiversity Research program, Education for Sustainable Development Program, and Protected Area Creation and Management Program.
